Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

“Yo soy el camino, la verdad y la vida —le contestó Jesús—. Nadie llega al Padre sino por mí.” (Juan 14:6)

I was worshiping on Friday, March 15 at our church.  I was not preaching, or leading the Lord’s Supper, or really doing any leading at all with the exception of brief welcome to those who came to our first Spanish-speaking worship service.  Pastor Nacho led the Lord’s Supper.  A number of those in attendance shared testimonies.  Sergio preached the Word.  Because he did so in Spanish, I certainly didn’t understand much, but I can tell you it was powerful!

Two things were brought to my mind as I worshiped with everyone.

First, I recalled a conversation that Claudia Bartlett and I had about 7 or 8 years previous, a time when I didn’t know either Sergio or Nacho.  The conversation was about the idea of a Spanish-speaking service.  “Wouldn’t it be great…” we said.  It became a prayer, a prayer that was brought to life on Friday.
