The Serving Spoon is a food ministry program of Community Christian Church that is based in Ora Mae Harn Park where sack lunches are distributed to anyone in need Fridays at 8:00am.

Message from Pastor James, Cheryle, and Tammy (Coordinators)

“Community Christian Church has started a year-round food distribution project (called “Serving Spoon”), in which we put together sack lunches and distribute them each Friday morning to individuals and families in need. This project is very open – all are welcome.” -Pastor James Blankenship

“Serving Spoon has grown from about 20 people to about 75 people during the near two years it has been in effect. There are 2 to 4 or 5 people that help. . . Serving Spoon was started to feed people who need and want food.” -Cheryle King

“We serve not only food but hugs and prayers, too. People have donated time, money and non-food items for us to hand out. I have seen the positive effect we have had on those we serve and feel blessed by God tenfold. It is a truly amazing feeling to know you make a difference with just a hug. On April 13th (2011) we  celebrated 2 years!” -Tammy Gregoire
