Children’s Ministries

WELCOME!

Community Christian Church of Marana has a long-term vision of transforming young lives through our Saturday and Sunday Children and Youth Services. We want our children to experience the love of Christ, to embrace Christ personally, and to develop into young adults with a mature and solid faith – to be discipled and to become disciples of Christ.

Our purpose is to love and nurture these children as they grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ and His love for us all. To do this, we are providing a fun and purposeful learning environment that will help them remember their Saturday and Sunday experiences all the days of their lives.

Our children are supervised by an incredibly gifted staff of loving Christians, some with professional teaching credentials and our curriculum encourages them to live out their faith in practical ways everyday. All of their lessons are surrounded by fun activities and fellowship. We invite you to see how much fun learning about Jesus and growing and serving with friends can be.

NEW TO CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SERVICES…

For those that are new to our church, please be sure to pick up a “Welcome Packet” so that we can better inform you and answer any questions you might have about our Children’s Sunday Services.

You will want to first go to the Children’s Center located in Fellowship Hall to register and sign your child into class and meet their teacher. Then please take your child(ren) into the Sanctuary with you on Sunday morning. Following the children’s message the children will be dismissed to their classrooms.

On Sunday mornings, we provide Children’s Sunday Service at both the 9:00 am and 10:30 am services and Youth Sunday Service at 10:30 am.  Every service offers us the opportunity to gather together as a congregation and honor our loving God. During the church service the children are asked to join with their parents for worship (9am service allows children to play musical instruments) and then to come forward for a children’s story about 15 minutes into the service and then are dismissed to their individual classrooms.

The Children’s Sunday Service is divided into the following classrooms:

Nursery: Infants and toddlers to 3 year old meet in the Nursery Suite for both 9:00 and 10:30 worship services. Changing table is also located in the Nursery Suite.

Preschool:  3 year old through kindergarten will go to the Preschool classroom.  Children will be dismissed to their parents at the end of service.  Please meet your child(ren) at the classroom door.

Primary:  Children in Grades 1– 5 will go to their Primary classroom. Parents are asked to meet children at the classroom after worship.

Youth: Youth Sunday Service is for Jr. (6th grade included) and SR. High students and meets at  10:30am  (Class will not meet on Potluck  Sundays.)

Signing in on Sunday: Children are welcome to sign in 15 minutes before the service and parents should pick up their child(ren) 15 minutes after the service. Children should always wear their name tag when attending classes.
Contacting you: If your child needs you, we will send someone to the sanctuary to notify you.

Food Allergies: We provide snack and juice during the children’s services, please alert us of any allergies your child might have.

We ask that you fill out the simple registration form and sign your child in and out of their classroom (youth do not need to sign in and out).

SECURITY: Your children are important to us! We use a sign in and sign out process for all children from  nursery through 6th grade that includes filling out a registration sheet and those who are authorized to pick them up. We have name tags for each child which makes identification easier as well. Additionally, allergy, medical and parent/guardian information is communicated to the teacher through the registration sheet.

Today our kids are bombarded by the negative  influences of this world.  Our main purpose is to provide a safe haven where kids can escape the harsh influences of the world, let down their guard, and learn to enjoy their Christian walk in fellowship.

Saturday night children and youth outreach is at 6:30 – 8 pm at the church . Our kids have fun, develop meaningful relationships and grow in their social and spiritual skills through a variety of fun and educational activities. For Youth Group information, please see our 180 Youth website.

Another purpose for outreach is to build up our communities at large: church, local, and global. Our Youth Group has developed a “Pet Pantry” in which they seek donated pet items (food, kitty litter, etc.) to disburse to anyone who has pet needs and we have the children participate in a Thanksgiving Food Drive and Christmas Toy Drive for those in need.

The curriculum taught to the children is “Live B.I.G.”, a Sunday school adventure where children hear, see and live their belief in God.

It is about children coming to know the love of God through Jesus. The curriculum is filled with lessons using music, art, theater, dance, laughter, education and entertainment. Through sight, sound, cool graphics, hands-on activities, stickers, games, crafts, snacks, Bible stories, worship and prayer, Live B.I.G. helps your child grow as children of God.

The curriculum taught in Youth Group is “Teen Sunday School Place”, which additionally involves a community of youth group leaders who share their tips and ideas with each other to create dynamic youth services. Every week we incorporate serious Bible lessons along with topical themes relating to youth issues.
